HAIR REPORT: AKRIS

THE LOOK:

Redken Creative Consultant Guido Palau used Redken hardwear 16 super strong gel and Redken control addict 28 high hold hairspray to conceal the hair behind double brimmed hats. Similar to a wig wrap, Guido and his team prepped the models backstage by wrapping their hair up and fastening it onto their heads. Once the hair was set, wig caps were placed over each model’s head to completely mask the hair on the runway.
“We chose to do hats for this show because it felt right with the collection. The show is a dream of fabrics and nature, moving forward through technology. In this instance, extracting the hair from the overall look actually added to the show’s narrative.”

THE HOW-TO:

1. Apply Redken hardwear 16 super strong gel to dry hair from root to ends and comb through until hair is completely saturated.
2. Divide hair into two horizontal sections, clipping the bottom section down and out of the way.
3. Using a finishing brush, start to brush the top section flat against the head, following the round of the head in one direction. Repeat this with each section making sure it’s very clean and neat-looking
when finished.
4. Blow dry hair until completely dry. Apply Redken control addict 28 high hold hairspray and place
wig cap on so it completely covers the head. Finish with a wide brimmed hat.
